Categories are often limiting, not describing well the clients we support.  In order to help give you an idea though about the clients and work we do, here are a few chosen categories we are currently working in.

Higher Education

One of my passions is to get institutions of higher learning to realize positive income from its auxiliary services, contributing to the institution's mission, rather than be a drain to its education mission.  Services such as Dining, Catering, Catering, Housing, and Transportation can all be reorganized to make a positive impact on an institution's bottom line.  Cost bleed-off is common for most colleges and universities, especially where 'silo-thinking' has taken hold.  This often leads to an institution that goes outside to provide services for its students, faculty, and staff, while often high quality services are a few steps away.

Colleges and universities of all sizes are great assets to a local community (and its economy).  There are many ways the local institution can serve as an asset for the community while also strengthening independent viability of its auxiliary services.


I also work with schools to help with development of collegiate brands - well established for many with strong athletic programs, but I find the idea of 'brand' is often lost on smaller schools or individual programs within a school.  Market Demand can work with administrators and educators to best define and position education and auxiliary services to improve institutional economic health.




Non-Profits
Here at Market Demand we do a lot of pro-bono and in-kind work with area and national non-profits.  We realize that many are passionate about their advocacy, however are not trained business professionals.  We can help by coming in and supporting much of the 'boring work' of non-profit business.  Much of this starts with organizational planning and development, visioning, and infrastructure exercises, but often results in a longer term support position to assist in foundation development, event management, or internet branding.  We can't take on all non-profits as in-kind clients, but we are willing to help out as much as we can to help get you started or to help answer some of your pressing questions right away.



Medical Device / Diagnostics
Market Demand first grew out of the awareness of many start-up medical device and diagnostic firms in need of marketing, regulatory, and clinical affairs guidance.  Many need guidance to help build their first business plans to secure seed funding, and Market Demand is happy to provide these services.  Market Demand has experience with defining the regulatory pathway [510(k) or PMA] to the US market or into foreign markets for a number of medical devices and diagnostics.  We also have worked with more mature firms interested in market analyses to define market interest, sales cycles, and reimbursement.



Small / Local Businesses
'Small' business doesn't have to be a four letter word.  Often these businesses are the most passionate and have some of the best overall vision of all the clients Market Demand gets the pleasure to work with.  Like many of medical device / diagnostics firms, we work with many early stage companies looking to get off the ground, reorganize to grow, and/or position themselves for eventual sale.

We work with a lot of self-described Local Businesses - those that serve the needs of a specific market, whether they are in the trades (electricians, roofers, plumbers, etc), health and beauty, or retail.  The needs for each business is not exactly the same, and so we do not provide cookie-cutter approaches to helping to grow business, as we understand each is unique.
